What we do

We run a free comparison tool across eight categories: home services, window replacement, bathroom remodeling, roofing, siding replacement, debt relief, cash out program and heloc. You answer a short form once. We route it to licensed providers and screened contractors who serve your area. They compete for your business.

What we are not

We are not an insurer, an agency, a broker, a lender, a mortgage originator, a debt relief company, a credit counselor, a law firm, or a contractor. We hold none of those licenses and perform none of that work. Everything that requires a license is done by an independent third party. Read Licensing & Disclosures for the specifics by product.

How we make money

Partners pay us when we send them a qualified request. You never pay us. That arrangement funds the site and it also creates a conflict of interest, which we would rather name than hide: we only show you companies that pay us, so our comparison is not the whole market. Our Advertiser Disclosure lays this out in full, and our Editorial Guidelines explain how we keep the educational content honest despite it.

What we promise

• We tell you before you submit that partners will contact you, and how to make them stop.
• We publish the downside of every product we make money on — including the ones where the downside is losing your house or wrecking your credit.
• We do not invent statistics, testimonials or "average savings" numbers. If we cannot source it, we do not print it.
• We honor opt-outs, including the Global Privacy Control signal, and we will tell you which companies received your information if you ask.
